Newsworthy: Minted
Have you heard of Minted? It's a premier online destination for unique stationary design. How many times have you searched for a card you couldn't find? Better yet, you couldn't even verbalize what you were looking for, but knew you'd know it when you saw it? That happens to me quite a bit. So when I heard about Minted, I was happy to know someone understood the need for one-of-a-kind stationary designs. That someone is Mariam Naficy. She started Minted in 2007 out of a passion for exposing the work of indie graphic designers who were having a difficult time getting their designs sold through traditional retailers. I'm always inspired when I hear about ideas that gets materialized into a success. So many of us have full fledged businesses in our heads. And Mariam Naficy is proof that these ideas can be realized if we only act upon them. To ensure that the cream of the crop designers are well-represented, Minted hosts monthly design challenges. That's where consumers and other designers have a chance to vote on the hottest stationary designs. Those who win get their designs sold on Minted. Cool, right? There's nothing like a little competition to bring out the best in us.
So in honor of the 2014 Minted wedding collection, I've collated a few of my top save-the-date wedding cards. All of the cards are made by designer challenge winners. Check them out below.
It was be so hard to have to pick just one, but if I had to, I'm leaning towards 7. I love the simple, yet avante garde look of it. What do you think of Minted?
